Good bye Dewalt sanders!
I ran a search for THE BEST random orbital sander and came up with this sander; truly the best!
Planning to upgrade my entire workshop with Festool brand products because of this experience. I got the CT 36 E dust collector, a must complement for this sander, coming next and hope to be able to leave a positive review for it too.

Versatile finish sander Review by Lee

This should be your “go-to”finish sander for most projects. It is extremely versatile with infinitely adjustable speeds and great dust collection. It feel good in the hand and does not fatigue you palm with vibration. Very competitive pricing for this level of quality. Removable cord and Systainer storage make it convenient for workbench projects. The edge protector is a nice feature as it takes away the stress of damage in jointed areas. (Posted on 5/19/2018)

This is a great tool. It replaced an old cheap sander that burned out. What a difference. It sands faster and with less noise and vibration. And with a ct sys dust extractor there is virtually no clean up because it gets all the dust. Amazing. Which I had pulled the trigger on this sooner. (Posted on 2/7/2018)

I decided to spend the extra money and get a Festool sander…
Pros:
Systainer (so I can store my sanding disks with the sander)
Longer cord
Smoother (less vibration on the hand)
Quieter
Seems to have a little more power than the old Porter Cable sander.
Cons:

My grand mother always said: You get what you pay for.
She seems to be right so far….

I have purchased and discarded many 5" orbital sanders over the years from all the top makers. Some performing better than others however all very close in overall comparison. I have a strong feeling that this unit will be the last brand I will EVER buy!
The dust collection alone makes it worth the money but add the finish and you have a true standout performance unmatched by anything I have ever seen or used before. (Posted on 11/27/2016)
Don't let the size fool you Review by Jefferson Roberts

This is perfect for finish sanding. It is well balanced and when coupled with the Festool dust extractor, there is virtually no dust. I use this for sanding face frames, cabinet door edges or any tight areas. This sander is not intended for fast material removal, but will leave a swirl free surface that is ready for stain. A Great Sander Review by Kelly

I am actually reviewing the Pro 5 Ltd sander, which is basically the improved version of the existing 125 sander. I must say, this is a great sander! Lightweight, powerful, clean to use and a joy to use.
I took advantage of the Limited Time offer to get this sander at the special price of $99 and boy am I happy that I did! The only drawback is the price of the sandpaper. But, if it indeed does last longer than regular paper due to the improved dust collection, they it might just pencil out. (Posted on 11/11/2016)

Great sander, i'm happy with it. light weight which helps on the small pieces and edge work. Wish it had a little more power, but can't complain. Great sander for the price. Using with a CT Vac is a must, perfectly dust free. (Posted on 2/2/2016)
Good, but Not Appreciably Better Review by Adam

My primary basis for comparison for this sander is my 5" variable-speed random-orbital Dewalt from the home center. In every way, the ETS125 is superior, but it's not quite the revolutionary tool that, say, the Domino, track saw, or Rotex sanders are. The main advantages of the ETS125 over my old sander are:

--Lower vibration
--Lighter weight
--Better ergonomics
--More secure dust fitting (the dust hose frequently detached from the Dewalt mid-task which was irritating.

Since I have a CT vac I've never had reason to use the included dust bag, but from what I hear it works well.

In retrospect, I wish I'd gotten the ETS150, but the 125 is definitely good enough to have replaced the old Dewalt as my go-to random-orbit sander. (Posted on 6/19/2015)

I like the ets 125 eq sander because it is light weight and very easy to move around. It is a smooth running sander that performs very well with the different grits of sand paper that I used. another great tool from festool. (Posted on 6/1/2015)

After using a multitude of various different sanders and the amount of them I owned that didn't last very long I decided to get this one to add to my Festool collection. It has been a true enjoyment to own this sander, does everything I could ever want or need and not to mention plugs into my vacuum and has cut the dust down floating around in my small shop! May cost a few more dollars than your average sander, but why pay for average to use on your project? great tool and very comfortable to use! (Posted on 5/4/2015)

At first I was excited to use such a fine tool, but when it came time to sand raw Ash, it didn't see to be powerful enough. Long story short, I was not using the right grit. After using a 40 grit and later ramping up to 400, I quickly saw the usefulness of this sander. It's light, quite, and does not fatigue my hands after an hour(s) of sanding. The sanding pad looks as though it will also last quite a long time. Great Product! I do a few pieces of furniture a year and I don't see the need for any of the more expensive sanders. This sander is a perfect starter for anyone looking to explore Festool. It is light and balanced, but full of power. Coupled with a dust extractor, it makes sanding virtually dustless. Its small size and low weight make it fit comfortably in your hand while gliding effortlessly across the wood. Hardly any work sanding anymore, and the results are awesome. (Posted on 5/14/2014)

After my older sander stopped working I was in the market for a new 5 inch sander and after reading some reviews about this sander from festool I purchased it. This was my first festool sander of now 5 that I own and the first thing i noticed was how quite this sander is compared to my old one, then after using it couldn't believe how light it is, this sander is a real joy to use the finish is perfect with the right abrasives. After this purchase I was hooked on festool. Thanks for putting out such quality tools. (Posted on 4/6/2014)
